15 Ways to Attract Your Target Market

Getting more clients starts with attracting your target market. If you don't keep attracting your target market, your business won't grow and you won't have a steady stream of income.


So how do you get new people to find you? You create 'Awareness' content.


This is the type of content that will reach the people who don't know you exist yet (i.e. your 'cold' audience).


It's essentially answering the questions that your target market will search for Google relating to your business, so the more specific and niche you can be, the better - because you will know the problems they experience and therefore predict things they will search for. Plus niching (being specific) also means you will naturally use longtail keywords in your content, which are important for organic SEO and getting found.


TIP: Don't use industry jargon - phrase it exactly as your ideal client would, otherwise your content won't organically get found.


**NICHING is so important for a small business owner because people will find you more easily, as explained above. If I just called myself a 'Web Designer' online, I'd be competing with every web designer in the world**

How to Get Found Online


Once your have answered the top questions you potential clients are asking, publish them in a Blog, Podcast or Video stream on your website. This will boost your SEO and drive traffic to your site.


So how much of your knowledge you should be giving away for free within these blog posts / podcasts / videos?

"BUT SURELY IF I GIVE EVETYTHING AWAY FOR FREE, NO ONE WOULD HIRE ME?", you cry!


Well .. If you think you're nothing without your knowledge, then you don't deserve your business.

It's all about adjusting your mindset: charge for your time, give your knowledge away for free.


No amount of step by step guides or trade secret articles will ever compare to the experience of working with YOU and having your direct involvement to fill in the blanks that your handouts don't. By sharing your knowledge as answers to solving your target markets problems, this will reach a much larger crowd and grow your audience quicker.


You are also demonstrating your skills and experience, so people will trust you much sooner - rather than saying:


'I have the answer to your problem - give me some money and I'll tell you ..'


By sharing your info you are being generous and authentic with your mission to support people.


I know it seems wrong and probably uncomfortable to give knowledge away - and perhaps you think people won't hire you if they have the info they need. Undoubtedly there will be some people who take the info and walk - but that's OK because it's one more person's life you have touched. They are now part of your warm audience, they are now convinced you are good at what you do and they will recommend you, if not buy from you in the future.
